Cholatse Peak is located in the Khumbu region of the Nepalese Himalaya. Mt Cholatse is connected to Mt Taboche (6,501m) by a long ridge. The Chola glacier descends from the East face of the North and East faces of Cholatse can be seen from Dughla on the trail to Mt. Everest Base Camp. Mt Cholatse was first climbed via the South West ridge on April 22nd 1982, the North face was successfully scaled in 1984. The first solo ascent was accomplished on April 15th 2005 by way of the North face. The first climbing permit was issued for Mt Cholatse in 2002.

| Expenses For Mt. Cholatse Expedition: The cost for Cholatse peak climbing will depend on several different factors. The types of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu and trek to Cholatse base camp will make a difference to the overall cost (Budget to 5 star accommodations). The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your Cholatse peak climbing package trip, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van. The size of climbing team as well number of climbing guide and porters required will also affect the total cost of the expedition. For these reasons on the same trip to climb Cholatse peak can vary in price quite substantially. |
