Kanchenjunga trek leads to base camp of Mt. Kanchenjunga which is third highest peak of the world. This trek offers infinite variety of landscapes, cultures and majestic views of Kanchenjunga Himalayan range including Makalu, Janu Himal, Bokta Peak and many more sno capped mountain summits. Our approach takes us up through terraced hillsides of the remoter ethnic groups of Rai and Limbu and well-preserved forest of rhododendron, birch oak and spruce.
Mt. Kanchenjunga is stand on
Nepal/Sikkim border only a few miles from Tibet. This route was open for
trekkers in 1988, though people have trekked in the area in connection with
mountaineering expedition since the turn of the century. The region is still
restricted to organized expedition group only, special permit is required for
trekkers.
The trek begins fly from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and transfer to Basantapur on
the same day. The trek towards passing through with our first camp at Chauki, Gyabla,
Gunsa and ascends to the higher camp at Pang Pema (5120m) and camp at Lhonak.
The trek concludes at Suketar via the descent from Omje Khola, from where we
fly back Suketar to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfers to Hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu free.
Day 03: Kathmandu – Biratnagar by flight then drive to Basantapur.
Day 04: Basantapur – Chowki.
Day 05: Chowki – Gupha Pokhari.
Day 06: Gupha Pokhari – Dovan.
Day 07: Dovan – Mitlung.
Day 08: Mitlung – Chiruwa (1200m.)
Day 09: Chiruwa – Sakathum (1600m.)
Day 10: Sakathum – Amjilessa (2460m.)
Day 11: Amjilessa (Gyapla) – Ghunsa (3475m.)
Day 12: Ghunsa – Khambachen (4130m.)
Day 13: Hiking Lhonak 4780m. (Pangpengma Base camp 5000m.).
Day 14: Khambachen – Back to Ghunsa 3475m.
Day 15: Ghunsa – Mivingla Base Camp.
Day 16: Mivingla BC – Tseram (3750m.)
Day 17: Tseram – Omje Khola.
Day 18: Amje Khola –Phumpe Danda.
Day 19: Phumpe Danda – Kunjari.
Day 20: Kunjari – Suketar (Taplejung).
Day 21: Suketar – Kathmandu by flight then transfers to Hotel.
Day 22: Kathmandu free.
Day 23: Last minute, transfer to airport for onward journey.

Expenses For The Trip: The cost for the trek or tour you decide you want to do will depend on several different factors. The types of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu and during the trek will make a difference to the overall cost (Budget to 5 star accommodations). The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your package trip, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van, tourist or local buses. The camping trek and teahouse trek made a difference in the cost. The number of guide, assistant guides and porters required will also affect the total cost of the trek. For these reasons on the same trek/tour can vary in price quite substantially. |
