Everest Trek is not only the excitement for the mountaineers but it also a dream for normal people who wants to see and feel it by close distance in their lifetime. The trek is not only to see the Mt. everest, you can view closely Sherpa villages, Buddhist monasteries, Sagarmatha National Park that has become exclusive for trekkers since its opening for foreigner in 1950. Everest trekking has been popular after Sir Ed. Hillary and Tenzing Norgey conquered it in May 1953.
The trek also starts from Lukla by catching a flight from Kathmandu, otherwise Jiri a market town and the gateway to the Solukhumbu region is the starting point of this trip. It takes few days to reach Junbesi, lower part of Solukhumbu and beautiful alpine region of Solu is waiting to be watched on the way. From Junbesi the trek continue onwards amongst and alongside the regions famous inhabitants the legendary Sherpas. These hardy people have carved an existence since time immemorial from the frozen landscape. Passing through Sherpa villages and Monasteries, the next destination will be Gokyo Ri, Kallapathar and Everest base camp. From Gokyo Ri and Kalapattar, there are splendid views of Everest along with Nuptse, Lhotse and huge high mountain range. A further five days needed for descending to Lukla for fly back to Kathmandu.

Expenses For The Trip: The cost for the trek or tour you decide you want to do will depend on several different factors. The types of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu and during the trek will make a difference to the overall cost (Budget to 5 star accommodations). The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your package trip, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van, tourist or local buses. The camping trek and teahouse trek made a difference in the cost. The number of guide, assistant guides and porters required will also affect the total cost of the trek. For these reasons on the same trek/tour can vary in price quite substantially. |
